| Abstract | The neonatal information system was designed to address the following primary clinical data management needs: patient reports, administrative statistics, communication with referring physicians, query subsets of the database for research, education, quality assurance, risk assessment, government-mandated reports, cost profiles, utilization flow studies, and transfer to other software packages for additional statistical analysis. |
