| Abstract | An early description of the clinical data management system at Massachusetts General Hospital and the programming language MUMPS. At that time the system ran on an 18-bit PDP-9 with 28K words of memory and a 3 MB fixed head disk. Some programming examples and benchmarks vs. FORTRAN are included. |
