| Abstract | A culture that promotes team-based efforts, multidisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practice is key to innovation. The hospital environment needs to be viewed holistically across different clinical applications, such as EMR, CPOE, eMAR and imaging. It is the combined power of these tools that allows an organization to provide superior care. The IT department must work closely with clinician leadership. A culture of continuous performance improvement underlies innovation. |
