Missouri Mite Models New-Type Incubator
St Louis, Missouri: Two month old Linda Saffel, who weighed only two pounds 15 ounces at birth and now tips the scale at an ounce over five pounds, is ready to be taken home. But before leaving the DePaul Hospital, Baby Linda serves as "model" in a demonstration by Nurse Genevieve Baker, of a new incubator-resuscitator which is already credited with saving three premature infants' lives since it was installed last November. The pressure in the "air lock" fluctuates automatically to provide conditions similar to those nature provides for the infant before its birth.
