The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego and Rady Children's Hospital (https://www.rchsd.org/) is currently in an exciting period of growth and expansion. As part of our ongoing pursuit of clinical innovation and scientific discovery, we are recruiting exceptionally talented academic clinical neonatologists.

UC San Diego consistently ranks among the top 20 research-intensive medical schools. The UC San Diego Rady Children's Division of Neonatology is currently ranked 4th nationally by US News and World Report and possesses an outstanding group of talented clinician educators, translational investigators, and physician scientists. Faculty members in the Division of Neonatology cover the 60-bed tertiary Level IV NICU at Rady Children's Hospital, the 52-bed regional Level III NICU within UC San Diego Jacobs Medical Center, and several Level III and Level II UC San Diego and Rady Children's Hospital NICUs throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties.

Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent and must be board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Pediatrics in the subspecialty of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Candidates must have completed an accredited training program in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine by the start of the appointment.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
