The Department of Pediatrics and the Division of Neonatology is seeking a Neonatologist who is qualified for a faculty appointment in the College of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. The candidate must be board-certified/eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and must have an academic background with experience in basic or clinical research, teaching and/or quality/performance improvement.
The Neonatologist will join the neonatal program at University Hospital of Brooklyn. Clinical duties include responsibilities for inpatient rotations on the clinical service of the Neonatal Division. This includes rotations in the NICU, on site night calls, week-end calls, developmental clinic, and newborn transport. The successful candidate will serve as supervising physician in the Neonatal Fellowship and Pediatric residency training program and will be expected to conduct scholarly activities leading towards peer-reviewed publication and/or extramural grant support. The incumbent will also be expected to participate in the Clinical Practice Management Plan of the Department of Pediatrics and will supervise and teach medical students.
Eligible candidates must be board certified in pediatrics and board certified or board eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and must have an academic background with scholarly accomplishment. Candidate must possess a valid New York State license.
Academic rank/title will be determined based on credentials and experience possessed by the selected candidate.
