The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco is recruiting for the next Chief of the Division of Neonatology. Appointment will be made at the Associate or Full Professor rank of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Clinical X or In Residence series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.
The selected candidate will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Departments mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines. The ideal candidate will have significant program development and management expertise with a strong background in clinical team operations, innovative research, and educational program development in the field of neonatology.
The neonatologist practice is based out of the Mission Bay campus with affiliated sites at Santa Rosa Hospital, Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, Washington Hospital & Health System in Fremont, and The Community Hospital of The Monterey Peninsula.
The Division Chief for Neonatology will benefit from substantial institutional resources to expand our current interdisciplinary clinical, research, and education programs.
Required qualifications:
• Medical degree and license
• Board certified or board eligible in pediatric neonatology
• Proven ability to work collaboratively
• Commitment to diversity in the workplace
Preferred qualifications:
• Strength in teaching
• Strong communication skills across a variety of venues
• Proven track record in research and peer-reviewed external funding at the R01 or equivalent level

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the [health sciences compensation plan](https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
