JHACH in St. Petersburg: The main campus has a 97-bed, Level IV NICU and cares for a wide range of patients including the most complex. JHACH has an ACGME accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship Program. In addition to providing clinical care, participation in medical education and research is strongly encouraged/supported. Neonatologists with experience/interest in neonatal neurocritical care and/or point-of-care ultrasound is highly desired for our main campus NICU.
HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon: There is a 36 bed, Level III NICU is staffed 24/7 by ACSP neonatologists, advanced practice providers, and neonatal nurses. Located just 10 miles east of downtown Tampa, greater Brandon is a thriving region of over 265,000 residents and one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country.
HCA Florida Trinity Hospital in Trinity: There is a 12 bed, state-of-the-art, Level II NICU staffed 24/7 by JHACH neonatologists, advanced practice providers, and neonatal nurses. The neonatologists currently have a 1 week on and 1 week off schedule with 4 NPs. Neonatologists are currently not required to remain in-house 24/7 during the week on. Trinity is a rapidly growing community located just 30 minutes north of Tampa.
Program Overview:
The neonatology provider team has a staff of roughly 75 and includes neonatologists, NICU hospitalists and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants.
Our team cares for nearly 1000 babies each year in the NICU and has expertise in treating babies with very low and extremely low birth weight.
The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Maternal, Fetal and Neonatal Institute (MFNI) provides comprehensive care for women and babies throughout all stages of development, including specialized care for mothers with high-risk pregnancies. The MFNI seeks to improve outcomes for newborns through collaborative approaches to value-based care, beginning with the high-risk expectant mother, continuing through delivery and NICU admission, and extending beyond discharge through patient-centered cohort-based neonatal follow-up.
JHACH offers a dynamic, innovative clinical and academic environment at our campus in St. Petersburg which benefits from research collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine partners based in Baltimore. Qualified candidates are eligible for an academic appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
