MGH is an academic medical center affiliated with Harvard Medical School (HMS). The perinatal program includes approximately 3,700 deliveries/year with an active high risk maternal-fetal medicine service and associated Level II Special Care Nursery and Level IV NICU with a combined capacity of 42 acute beds. Mass General Division of Newborn Medicine includes a network of affiliated community special care nurseries along with a robust transport program.
The Birthplace at Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital care for more than 1,300 newborns annually and includes a Level IIB Special Care Nursery. Salem’s close medical and nursing collaboration with the Mass General Hospital NICU ensures the most advanced approach to infant care.
Clinical responsibilities will include providing clinical care in the MGH NICU and the SCN at Salem Hospital.
We provide education to the fellows of the Harvard Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program and residents in the MGH Pediatric Residency Program. We are actively involved in clinical research and quality improvement projects, including participation in NeoQIC, the Neonatal Quality Improvement Collaborative of Massachusetts.
Requirements include an MD or equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Massachusetts, and board certification or board eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
Academic appointment as Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor at HMS will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, achievements, and teaching responsibilities.
