A unique opportunity for an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join a well-respected 35 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Los Angeles’ South Bay area. The Division of Neonatology is well-known for the world class clinical care, training of future neonatologists and both basic science and clinical research. The NICU has been recognized for an extremely low infection rate and participates in multiple investigator-initiated and California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (CPQCC)-driven quality improvement projects. The NNP will join a team of neonatologists, another Neonatal NP, two Pediatric NPs, and will be a vital link to the in-patient family- centered care and in assisting neonates to transition to life at home after discharge from the NICU. Full subspecialty support is available 24/7 in-house or on-call.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

· Provide hands on patient management

· Attend selected deliveries

· Participate in transport service

· Provide teaching to nursing and house staff in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

· Communicate with other disciplines to coordinate work, obtain information, and answer questions about services provided, programs, problems with patient care, and sensitive subject matter

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

· Excellent written/verbal communication, computer and organizational skills

· Well-developed critical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision/oversight

· Minimum of 1 years clinical Neonatal Nurse Practitioner experience

· A current furnishing number, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number and a National Provider Identifier (NPI)
