NorthBay Neonatology Associates is seeking a BC/BE Neonatologist who is an emotionally intelligent, continuous life-long learner to join our team. We value a sustainable work-life balance, continuous quality improvement and an evidenced-based approach in our ever-evolving specialty. Members of our group trained at: Stanford, Harvard, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (U Penn) and UCLA.

The NICU is a 16-bed level III unit (ADC 7-9) which cares for infants down to 27-28 weeks and 800-900 grams. We are supported by on site Pediatric Cardiology, Genetics/dysmorphology, OT/PT, Speech Therapy, MSW and NICU dietary specialists. The remainder of specialists support the unit through well-established telemedicine programs in concert with our Regional NICU partners.

The administration is exceptionally supportive of the NICU, one of its flagship services. As such we are very well funded as evidenced by our State-of-the-Art capital assets and sponsored involvement with nearly every quality improvement initiative promulgated by CPQCC (California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative).

The culture of the NICU is highly evolved where both nurses and physicians “seek to understand and assume positive intent.” This fosters a very high functioning culture of safety which has resulted in very favorable clinical outcomes and parent satisfaction. The NICU is only 1 of 13 health care facilities in the State of California which has earned both the MAGNET and BABY FRIENDLY designation. Additionally, NorthBay’s Maternity Services has been honored with US News and World Report’s “Best Hospitals For Maternity Care” for the past 3 consecutive years.

Located within minutes of the Napa Valley at the base of the Myacamas Mountains, NorthBay is 1 hour from San Francisco and 45 minutes from Sacramento boasting an average of 260 days of sunshine each year. The local area of 500,000 residents is mindfully growing and offers easy access to internationally acclaimed restaurants, as well as world-class skiing, boating and other outdoor/cultural activities.

We believe that life should be about a fulfilling journey, not a frenetic sprint. To that end, we support each other as we cultivate our careers while our lifestyles evolve. If you would like more information about this highly compensated private practice opportunity, please email: Steve Gwiazdowski, MD, FAAP at sgwiazdowski@gmail.com or text to 707-592-2043.
