This is a teaching institution so the ideal candidate will need to be willing to work with and teach our pediatric residents and medical students. Candidates should have a strong focus on clinical skills and also good interpersonal skills. They also need to be able to work in collaboration with our current medical staff to deliver the highest quality of care to our patients.

Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) is a 530 bed, tertiary care hospital. It is a Level 1 trauma center and has long carried the responsibility of being this area’s “safety-net” hospital. For over 60 years it has served as a teaching hospital as well. NUMC is the central part of the NuHealth Corporation which also includes a nursing home and 5 community health centers.
Nassau University Medical Center is located in East Meadow, NY. It is situated in the heart of Nassau County and Manhattan is about 45 minutes away so you can combine suburban living and access to all the things NYC has to offer. For those who do not wish to travel into the city Nassau County offers many cultural and recreational activities, shopping, fine dining, beaches, parks and wildlife preserve as well as concerts, sporting events and a plethora of various outdoor activities such as fishing and golfing.
