Position 1: Neonatologist at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital
This faculty position will include serving as attending neonatologist at the Level IV NICU at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto, CA. Our Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (LPCH) NICU is a world class, Level IV NICU that serves as a national referral center, treating approximately 1000 newborns each year. The NICU also supports the high-risk obstetrics service at LPCH, with around 5000 deliveries annually, and closely collaborates with the Stanford Johnson Center Fetal and Pregnancy Health Program.
Our neonatologists work alongside experienced neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatal hospitalists, neonatal-perinatal medicine fellows, and pediatric residents. Our multidisciplinary environment includes colleagues from maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric surgical and medical subspecialties. The Level IV NICU at LPCH provides state of the art tertiary care, including HFOV, inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, and neonatal hemodialysis. Attending neonatologists supervise an active neonatal critical care transport team staffed with registered nurse transport specialists and respiratory therapists. The Division strongly supports faculty involvement in teaching, clinical research, and quality improvement efforts.
Position 2: Neonatologist at Dominican Hospital
This faculty position will include serving as attending neonatologist at the Domini
can Hospital NICU in Santa Cruz, California. The Dominican NICU is a world class, Stanford affiliated, Community Level III NICU that provides high level neonatal intensive care services to the California central coast region of Santa Cruz and northern Monterey counties. Dominican Hospital has an average of 900 deliveries per year, including high risk perinatal obstetric services. Our Stanford neonatology team at Dominican also provides neonatal referral, consultation, and transport services to sick neonates from the nearby Sutter Maternity and Surgery center, and from Watsonville Community hospital, combining for an additional 2000 deliveries each year.
The Dominican Level III NICU collaborates closely with the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford Level IV NICU and the Johnson Center Fetal and Pregnancy Health Program at Stanford. The Dominican NICU provides exceptionally high-quality Level III critical care, and patients requiring surgery, ECMO, or more complex tertiary care are stabilized for transport. Many patients return to the Dominican NICU prior to discharge. The Stanford faculty at Dominican also participate in staff education, NICU policy and procedure updates, and Perinatal Morbidity and Mortality conferences.
