Diagnose and treat newborns with conditions such as breathing disorders, infections and birth defects; coordinate care and medically manage newborns premature, critically ill or in need of surgery; ensure that critically ill newborns receive the proper nutrition for healing and growth; provide care to a newborn at caesarean or other delivery that involves medical health and require medical intervention in the delivery room; stabilize and treat newborns with any life threatening medical problems; consult with obstetricians, pediatricians and family physicians about the conditions affecting newborn infants; be an attending Neonatologist in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, a subspecialty of pediatrics that consists of the medical care of newborn infants, especially the ill or premature newborn infants. Patients will be the newborn infants who are ill or requiring special medical care due to prematurity, low birth weight, intrauterine growth retardation, congenital malformation (birth defects), sepsis, or birth asphyxia. Location will be at The Medical Center Bowling Green in Bowling Green, KY. Will consider H1-b. Start date negotiable.
