Medical Director at George Washington University NICU

The GWU NICU is the delivery center for Children's National residency and fellowship programs and has been a leader in non-invasive respiratory care for decades. George Washington Hospital is located in the heart of DC, less than a mile from the White House, and draws a wide and very diverse patient population. Join a team of 5 Neonatologists and two pediatricians overseeing education for fellows, residents, and med students in a premier birthing location in the nation’s capital.

GW has a level III NICU taking care of babies down to 22 wks gestation and promotes the use of bubble CPAP as a primary respiratory support. The NICU also uses conventional and high frequency ventilation, with available inhaled nitric oxide when necessary. Obstetric and neonatal services are provided on the same floor and the medical director will work closely with OB and Quality team members to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety for mothers and newborns. The NICU is a member of the Vermont Oxford Network.

Qualifications:

Medical degree from an accredited medical school.

Board certified or eligible for board certification in primary practice specialty.

Eligibility for a medical license in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
