The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego (http://www.pediatrics.ucsd.edu) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Medical Director/Co-Clinical Director.
UC San Diego consistently ranks among the top 20 research-intensive medical schools. The UC San Diego Rady Children's Division of Neonatology is currently ranked 4th nationally by US News and World Report and possesses an outstanding group of talented clinician educators, translational investigators, and physician scientists. Faculty members in the Division of Neonatology cover the 60-bed tertiary Level IV NICU at Rady Children's Hospital, the 52-bed regional Level III NICU within UC San Diego Jacobs Medical Center, and several Level III and Level II UC San Diego and Rady Children's Hospital NICUs throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties.
The successful candidate will join our Neonatology Division as the Medical Director, Jacobs Medical Center (JMC) NICU and Co-Clinical Director of JMC and Hillcrest Medical Center NICUs. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the Division of Neonatology's mission of delivering high quality care, teaching, engaging in scholarly activities, and promoting an environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusivity among faculty, students, and staff. The Division has a well-established ACGME accredited Fellowship, NIH-funded investigators, numerous ongoing and multicenter clinical trials, and ongoing collaborations with many other centers across the nation and within UC San Diego.
Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or equivalent and must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must be board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Pediatrics in the sub-specialty of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Candidates must also demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Candidates must have completed an accredited training program in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine by the start of appointment.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Associate of Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
