How to Cite This Site
Neonatology on the Web has been continuously published since 1995. Pages are revised as new sources come to light; every page carries a “Last Updated” date, and citations should include both that date and the date you accessed the page.
Citing a page — Chicago style (note format):
Ray Duncan, “The Lion Incubator,” Neonatology on the Web, last updated February 5, 2026, accessed July 12, 2026, https://neonatology.net/history/the-lion-incubator/.
Citing a page — AMA/Vancouver style:
Duncan R. The Lion Incubator. Neonatology on the Web. Updated February 5, 2026. Accessed July 12, 2026. https://neonatology.net/history/the-lion-incubator/
Citing the site as a whole:
Duncan, Ray. Neonatology on the Web. 1995–. https://neonatology.net/.
Citing digitized historical documents hosted here. Cite the original document as the source, and this site as the location of the digital copy. Example:
Œuvre Maternelle des Couveuses d’Enfants [souvenir booklet]. Paris: Maternité Lion, ca. 1901. Digitized copy at Neonatology on the Web, https://neonatology.net/pdf/lionparisbooklet-2.pdf.
Where a document was digitized by another institution (e.g., the Wellcome Collection or a national library), please credit that institution as noted on the relevant page.
Permanence. Because pages are revised over time, scholars citing specific wording are encouraged to cite an archived snapshot. Key pages are preserved in the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine; to cite the version you consulted, save or locate a snapshot at https://web.archive.org and use the resulting web.archive.org URL alongside (or instead of) the live URL.
URL stability. Page addresses under https://neonatology.net/ are intended to be stable but cannot be guaranteed never to change. If you encounter a broken link or wish to confirm a citation, contact webmaster@neonatology.net.
